War has been an unfortunate constant throughout human history, and Maryland’s history is no different. We will be looking at Maryland’s role in many of America’s wars and the contributions and sacrifices made. Come learn more about the significant contributions of Maryland Patriots in the Revolutionary War, how the first blood of the Civil War was spilled on Baltimore streets, and the curious case of a German submarine in Baltimore’s harbor during World War I.

Join us during Women’s History Month as we pay tribute to some of Maryland’s most notable ladies. From a well-known “conductor” of escaped enslaved people, to the founder of the American Red Cross, to a lesser known flag maker and a newspaper publisher, we’ll examine the important contributions of Maryland women throughout history.

The Great Baltimore Fire of 1904 was a momentous event that reshaped the urban landscape of the city. We will track the course of the fire over the 31 hours it raged, examine first-hand accounts and photographs of the aftermath, and see how city planning and firefighting methods changed as a result of this catastrophe.
