Did you know...
Give your students a more in-depth experience with a History Workshop, which includes a museum tour and an interactive classroom experience. Led by trained museum teachers, students work in small groups, learning to analyze objects and interpret primary source documents. Workshops are designed to address specific areas of the Maryland State Social Studies curriculum.
Scholarships may be available to help cover the cost of tours and workshops. If your school needs assistance to be able to visit the Maryland Historical Society, please call us for details.
$8 per student One free adult per ten students. Additional adults $8 each. $6 per student at a Title One School, and Additional adults are $6 each for Title One Schools.
Workshops are scheduled throughout the week and last three hours (includes a one-hour museum tour and a 30-minute lunch break).
A student lunchroom is available for eating bag lunches.
Minimum of 10 students, maximum of 75 students.
Book early as workshops book quickly.

School Days (Grades 1 - 3) Compare a day at school in the late 1800s with your classroom today; learn mathematics, make your manners, play games, read a diary from a schoolgirl in the 1890s and see objects from a school room. (Includes In Olden Times tour.)
Maryland Bound (Grades 4-5) An object-based inquiry into the founding of Maryland focusing on colonists’ motivations and emphasizing economic decision-making and critical thinking. (Includes From Survival to Prosperity- Maryland's Colonial Economy tour)
