In November 2017 the Maryland Historical Society will open Unscripted Moments: The Life & Photography of Joseph Kohl, a show that celebrates the life and work of the titular photojournalist and fine art photographer whose life was cut short by leukemia in 2002. The curatorial team consists of MdHS curator of films and photographs, Joe Tropea, City Paper photo editor J.M. Giordano, Washington Post contributing photographer Josh Sisk, and renowned photographer and close personal friend of Kohl, Linda Day Clark. The show will present Kohl's work as a shooter for the likes of Baltimore Business Journal, News American, City Paper, Afro-American, Village Voice, Catholic Review, and Easy Rider, to name just a few and also include his more private fine art photography. The exhibit includes work made from c.1980 through 2002. There will be a concurrent satellite show hanging at the Windup Space (12 North Avenue).
