Professional Development Workshops for Teachers

FREE sessions in the Student Research Center for History that include instruction in using primary sources with students and time to locate archival sources for use in your classroom. Space is limited and registration is required. Call 410 685 3750 ext. 336.

Locating Primary Sources: African Americans in Maryland Saturday, February 17, 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Find sources related to free and enslaved African Americans in Maryland, the Underground Railroad, segregation and the civil rights movement in Maryland and more.  Teachers will also have special access to the At Freedom’s Door: Challenging Slavery in Maryland exhibition opening February 11.

Custom Teacher Workshops at your school or in-service day
A museum educator will travel to your site to introduce your teachers to the MdHS programs and provide instruction on best practices in using primary source documents and objects with students of diverse abilities. Specific content workshops are also available. Each workshop custom designed to meet your needs.
