Primary Source Kits

Bring the excitement of primary source research into your classroom with a Primary Source Kit from the MdHS. Each kit contains reproductions of 30 to 45 primary sources drawn from the MdHS archives that relate to important themes in United States history and correlate to Maryland social studies standards.

Sources include letters, diary pages, photographs, broadsides, legislation, oral history transcripts, and more. Volumes in the Encountering Maryland’s Past series relate to the entire span of Maryland and U.S. history with 40 to 45 sources, activity suggestions, and worksheets. Other kits contain 20 to 30 sources concentrated on a single topic and include ready-to-use lesson plans and worksheets. All materials may be reproduced for classroom use.
