Young Defenders of the Maryland Historical Society

Turning History Class into Social Studies

The Young Defenders are an energetic group of young professionals who are excited about Maryland’s culture, past, present and future. Through both informal and more formal social events, we celebrate where we came from and where we live.

As members, Young Defenders enjoy a variety of benefits, ranging from deeply discounted entry to some of the best social events of the year to exclusive access all that the MdHS has to offer. You’ll enjoy free access to our unique exhibits, discounts at local businesses, and early invitations to some of Baltimore’s best galas throughout the year.

Whether you’re new in town, have always had an interest in Maryland culture and history or just want to meet some fun, social young professionals, come join us at our next event and see for yourself why they sell out! Clink prohibition drinks at our Bootlegger’s Bash; tag along on our historic bar crawls in your favorite neighborhoods; start your summer evenings off right at our “Carouse in the Courtyard” happy hours at the museum; and circle our now-infamous galas and after-parties on your calendar to make sure you don’t miss out on Baltimore’s best upscale cultural events.

Want to get involved? Become a member! We'll stay in touch with the latest and greatest on what's going on at MdHS.

Also, follow us on facebook and twitter to get first invitation to happy hours, galas, and more.
