Pieced Bedcover, c. 1860

Like earlier Baltimore album quilts, this bedcover is divided by sashing (strips of similar fabric defining the squares). Unlike the earlier album quilts showing pictorial images of Baltimore monuments, churches, ships,and people, this bedcover features geometric stars with no particular reference to Baltimore or Maryland.
