Appliquéd and Stuffed Quilt, 1820 -1830

In her dramatic and exquisitely crafted quilt, Cordelia Young of Montgomery County highlighted the quilted and stuffed center urn that is visible only by close inspection. In 1839, several years after making the quilt, Cordelia and her sister Mary emigrated to Illinois.
