Since its founding in 1844, publishing has been a central component of the Maryland Historical Society’s mission. Currently over 100 book titles in the Library of Congress collection bear the MdHS imprint. Thirty-five of these titles are currently in print. Impeccably researched and masterfully written, these engaging stories continue to contribute to our knowledge of Maryland’s past.

MdHS publications are distributed through an agreement with the Johns Hopkins University Press.
