Photoduplication Requests for photoduplication will be considered when such duplication can, in the judgment of the staff, be done without injury to the library material. Reproduction is therefore a privilege and not a service to be rendered upon demand. For information on fees for photoduplication, please click here.
It is to be understood that the reproduction is to be made solely for your convenience in examining the material; that the reproduction will not be reproduced; and that it will not be transferred to any other person or organization.
COPYRIGHT
In giving permission to publish, the Library does not surrender its own right thereafter to publish the material or grant permission to others to publish it. The Library does not assume responsibility for infringement of copyright or of publication rights to the material held by others. Please note that, with manuscript collections, literary rights held by the Library relate only to the communications of the person who actually created the papers.
Under the provisions of the Copyright Act (Title 17, U.S. Code) which governs the making of photoduplicates, the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a researcher makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that researcher may be liable for copyright infringement.
This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would constitute a violation of the copyright law.
