PERMISSION TO PUBLISH

Permission to examine manuscripts is not an authorization to publish them. Permission to publish (which will ordinarily be granted) must be obtained in writing from the Curator of Manuscripts and Archives. In giving permission to publish a mnauscript, the Maryland Historical Society does not surrender its own right thereafter to publish the manuscript or to grant permission to others to publish it; nor does the Society assume any responsibility for infringement of copyright or of literary or publication rights to the manuscript held by others.

Please give precise information on the materials you wish to publish and the publication in which they are to appear. Quotations must appear in context on this form, or you may attach copies of the pages containing them. The citations should follow a certain format depending upon thecollection cited.
