    History & Genealogy Department

    The Department provides services to the genealogy collections and indexes, the general reference collection, journals, microfilm, books, atlases and historic places index, newspapers, and other printed materials that provide interpretation and evaluation of Maryland history and its people. Due to the overwhelming number of telephone calls received, the department takes such requests only for a limited time Tuesday through Friday.

    Tuesday - Saturday 10 am - 4:30 pm

    Special Collections Department

    The Department provides services to manuscripts (diaries, letters, etc.), Rare Books,
      pamphlets, maps, broadsides, prints, musical scores, and photographs. Due to the large volume of requests for photographs, a separate phone extension is available for such requests.
