Technical Information
Sheet music items were digitized at the Maryland Historical Society Library using Adobe Photoshop on a Microtek Scan Maker 4 flat-bed scanner at 300 dpi and saved in TIFF format. From the TIFF file, two JPEG files were created for Web access: one "full-size" image at 600 pixels on the long dimension, and one "thumbnail" image at 150 pixels on the long dimension. Files reside on a dedicated image server.

HTML documents were created by project staff using Netscape Composer. Graphic banners were created in Adobe Photoshop.

Catalog information for the sheet music collection items was entered into an MS Access database, along with file paths for the images. Data and images were integrated by a computer consultant using Active Server Pages (ASP) technology.
