Letters written to Dr. James D. Iglehart (1850-1934), Baltimore physi-
cian, about patients, medical problems, involvement with the Sons of the
American Revolution and the Association of Veterans of the Mexican
War, the construction of a monument in recognition of Marylanders who
died in the Mexican War; account book from G. A. Lang's German and
English school, 1870-71.

IGLEHART SPANISH-AMERICAN WAR SCRAPBOOK, MS.477
Clippings concerning the Spanish-American War from April-May, 1898,
collected by Captain James D. Iglehart (1850-1934). Later clippings kept
by Captain Iglehart in the same volume concern the Fifth Regiment, Mary-
land National Guard, and the Sons of the American Revolution.

Baltimore gourmet food and wine retail establishment: notebook with
costs and retail prices of whiskey, gin, brandy, and wine; volume of
deposits and checks, 1946-50; record of daily purchases, 1950; wholesale
liquor dealer's books of purchases and sale, 1937-40, and monthly report,
1938-41.

the Independent Fire Company. Minute book, 1838-1853, containing consti-

of fires.

INDUSTRIAL BUREAU OF BALTIMORE SCRAPBOOKS, MS.1503
Collection of fourteen scrapbooks of newspaper clippings, etc., concerning
industry and business in Baltimore, 1919-1936. Five typescripts prepared
for the following manufacturing companies: C. F. Burgess Laboratories,
Inc., December, 1933; Steere Engineering Company, January, 1927; Hinde
& Dauch Paper Company, August, 1927; an unidentified foundry; and one
typescript prepared for real estate boards to interest them in locating their
industries in Baltimore.

Typed transcripts of newspaper advertisements relating to craftsmen,
artisans, etc., in 18th and early 19th century Maryland (c. 1727-1805),
arranged alphabetically by trade. Transcripts are 20th century and may
have been made by Ralph J. Robinson (donor).

INGLE LODGE FOR GIRLS RECORDS, MS. 1791
Washington, D. C. lodge for girls run by Mary Addison Ingle (1869-
1955): two volumes with the name, dates of arrival and departure, home
address, church, occupation, and age of each girl; one volume registers the
participants of the annual reunions of former lodgers.

establishment of the Federal Reserve Banks and other local matters.
Included is correspondence and bound stenographers minutes concerning
the Federal Reserve Banks.

Letters to Edward Ingle, managing editor of the Manufacturer's Record,
a Baltimore newspaper. Mainly include letters from James R. Randall on
public affairs and the condition of the south, 1898-1907, and from Gustavus
M. Pinckney, Charleston, South Carolina, lawyer, on southern problems,
including the Ogden movement and Negro labor, 1905-1907. Correspon-
dence with Woodrow Wilson on current affairs, such as the tariff, income

INGLE, RICHARD, COLLECTION, MS. 2430
Transcripts from the proceedings of lawsuits in the High Court of
Admiralty involving Richard Ingle (1609-ca. 1653) and his rebellion in
Maryland. Complaints mention Thomas Cornwallis, Thomas Copley
(1595-1652), Margaret Brent (1600-70), John Glover, and John Brooks.

INTERNAL IMPROVEMENT PAPERS, MS.484
Manuscript pamphlet (apparently unpublished) by a "considerable stock-
holder" (unidentified), describing the potential benefits to Baltimore and
Washington, D. C. of a projected system of inland navigation, 1820. Specific
canals mentioned go from Baltimore to Washington; the Ohio Canal, Phila-
delphia, and Middletown. The title of the pamphlet is Internal
Improvements.

roll County, Maryland. Show readings of contemporary literary works, etc.

Ledgers, account books showing receipts and payments, mainly relating to
Thomas Irwin, Jr. (profession unknown). Inventory and administration
account of the estate of Mary Tyson (relative of Thomas Irwin through his
marriage to Eleanor Tyson). Expense and letterbook of George C. Irwin,
stockbroker, 1845-1846, with accounts 1850-1870. List with signatures and
addresses of Baltimore ladies (unidentified-may relate to a civic league),

Typed diaries of Miss Isaacs's trips abroad, 1922, 1925, 1931. French transla-
tion by Miss Isaacs of Bulwer Lytton's Lady of Lyons (4 vols.), made at
Mme. Maurice's School. Notes and correspondence on the Sutton, Bowmer,
Shirley, Bull, and allied families, with typed memoranda by Miss Isaacs.
Family letters, including some from relatives in England during World
War II. Literature and pictures concerning Brent Broughton Church, Eng-
land. Newspaper articles on Maryland Heraldry, by Emily Emerson Lantz,
and Virginia Heraldry, by Jane Griffith Keys.

ISRAEL PAPERS, MS.488
Collection of the papers of Fielder C. Israel, Baltimore merchant, and pos-
sibly an ordained Methodist minister, his family, and clients. Material pri-
marily relates to his business transactions and includes accounts, bills,
receipts, etc. Large collection of papers concerning land and estates in
Baltimore, and miscellaneous legal papers. Two volumes contain minutes
of the "Society for the Relief of the Poor. . . Methodist Episcopal Church,"
1814-1817, and include account of property held by Methodists in
Baltimore.
