Isaac Edmondson, Baltimore merchants. Includes 25 bonds for funds to
be paid to the Collector of Customs in Baltimore for various months in
1818-1820. 1st and 2nd invoices from James Kay, London merchant, 1805;
correspondence with H. W. & J. Baker, 1805, and other miscellaneous
business letters. There is included a property title, May 24, 1837, for land
in the State of Maine given by William Beals and Charles G. Greene of
Boston to John Tebbetts: of Boston; also three promissory notes of J. C.
Tebbetts and Charles C. Tebbetts.

ELIZABETH KING ELLICOTT FUND, INC., PAPERS, MS.1177
Volume of material forming a complete history of the affairs of the Elizabeth
King Ellicott Fund, Inc. Includes copy of Mrs. Ellcotts will, and, later
correspondence on the fund. Chief actions of the fund were a donation of
$100,000.00 to the Y.M.C.A. in 1946 for an addition to its branch for colored
people on Druid Hill Avenue; also a donation of $25,000.00 in 1950
(proceeds from the sale of Mrs. Ellicotfs house), to the Provident Hospital
in Baltimore which was primarily devoted to the care of Negro patients.
The fund was started "for intellectual advancement and material welfare
of the colored people of Maryland."

Account book for the Eureka Peach Bottom Slate Mining Company, Harford
County (near Delta, Pennsylvania), May, 1885-September, 1890. Entries
for cash, sales, wages, and general day accounts. The companys organiza-
tion is explained, and owners include Elizabeth McLaughlin of Delta, Penn-
sylvania, J. C. G. Duncan of Baltimore, and Joshua S. Burke of Delta,
Pennsylvania, who state the purpose of their business to be the quarrying
and manufacture of roofing and other kinds of slate.
