$100,000.00 to the Y.M.C.A. in 1946 for an addition to its branch for
colored
people on Druid Hill Avenue; also a donation of $25,000.00 in 1950
(proceeds from the sale of Mrs. Ellicotfs house), to the Provident
Hospital
in Baltimore which was primarily devoted to the care of Negro patients.
The fund was started "for intellectual advancement and material welfare
of the colored people of Maryland."
