Scope and Content
Mary Hutchinson Warfield, the youngest child and only daughter of of Mary and Daniel Warfield, was born on October 18, 1862. When her parents died in 1870 and 1871, she moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to live with her grandmother. At the age of 14, she came back to Baltimore to attend the Misses Hall school for young ladies. Upon graduation, Mary lived with her brother, Mactier, and then at her own address throughout the 1880's. It was during this time that she kept her scrapbook of memorabilia from her social life. She seemed to be a popular figure in the high circles of Baltimore society and enjoyed herself immensely.
Mary's later life is obscure, but it is known that she lived in her own residence, often taking in younger members of her family. She remained single throughout her life. In 1949, at the age of 87, Mary Warfield died.
