Three-quarter view portrait depicts Charles Burnett: man with grey, wavy hair and double chin. He wears dark military garb that features red, vertically oriented accent and gold buttons. Oil on canvas by Joshua Johnson. Johnson was the first African American painter to make his living as an artist.
