Bust-length portrait shows Commodore Joshua Barney: man with gray wig, three-quarter view, facing left with eyes forward. He wears a military uniform: dark blue double-breasted jacket lined in red with gold epaulettes and buttons, and white shirt. Barney served in the American Revolutionary War as well as the War of 1812. Watercolor on Ivory by Juan Bauzil.
