"On the evening of May 13, 1861, General Benjamin Butler and 1,000 Union soldiers arrived at Baltimore's Camden Street Station by train. Under the cover of a thunderstorm, they fortified Federal Hill to ensure the city of Baltimore remained under Union control, after the Pratt Street Riot less than a month earlier."

Baltimore - Fires & Explosions - 1904 - Business Establishments & Stores - Anderson & Ireland Hardware. Verso reads: "Baltimore's business district was wiped out by the big fire of February 7 and 8, 1904? The picture, taken by J.E. Henry, 1433 Edmondson Avenue, shows the Anderson & Ireland Hardware Store at the northwest corner of Pratt and Light Streets. Because of powder and dynamite stored in the building, it was necessary to keep streams or water playing on it constantly, and the water froze."
