"On the evening of May 13, 1861, General Benjamin Butler and 1,000 Union soldiers arrived at Baltimore's Camden Street Station by train. Under the cover of a thunderstorm, they fortified Federal Hill to ensure the city of Baltimore remained under Union control, after the Pratt Street Riot less than a month earlier."

Item is a large folio of the Articles of Agreement between the captain of the Highflyer, a Baltimore privateer, and the crew. It gives specific terms of an 1812-1813 cruise of the Highflyer, including 109 seamen's names, stations, shares, and security. Also included are conduct regulations. The Highflyer was captured in February 1813 after taking eight British Vessels.
