Three-quarter length seated portrait shows Arunah Shepherdson Abell: man with gray hair and moustache, wearing gray-black coat, vest, and tie. He holds glasses in right hand, while left hand holds The Sun. Other copies of newspapers, ledgers, and letters are also seen. Window appears at right with green and gold curtain. Abell was a publisher and philanthropist who founded the Baltimore Sun. Oil on canvas by John Dabour.
