Presentation sword given to John O'Neill (1768-1838). Inscription reads, "Presented to the Gallant O'Neil for his valor at Havre de Grace by Philadelphians 1813." Sword in gold scabbard, mother-of-pearl on grip, ornate hilt. John O'Neill is considered a hero of Havre de Grace after his courageous confrontation with British forces in Havre de Grace in 1813.

Military canteen used during the Battle of North Point, September 12, 1814. Inscription: "This canteen was in the Battle of North Point Baltimore 1814 [September] th. 12. 'Shipley Liester Seneir (sie)." Wood and metal. Note: "Shipley Lester Senior" is hand written on the other side of the canteen.

Painting of John Rodgers (1773-1838). Oil on panel by Robert H. Sheppard (1818-1895). Full-length portrait shows John Rodgers holding silver presentation cup. Lower edge reads, "Presented by the United Fire Company / Gen. A. Miltenberger, Pres to John Rodgers of Baltimore, Sept 12th 1837." At a young age Rodgers apprenticed to a Baltimore shipowner and eventually rose to command a merchant ship while still in his teens. Before being commissioned a lieutenant in the new U.S. Navy in 1798, he spent eleven years as a ship merchant. Rodgers fought in the War of 1812. Drs. Michael and Marie Abrams Memorial Purchase Fund.
