Beatles '64,The Photographs of Morton Tadder
Temporary Exhibit Opening at the
Maryland Historical Society

Baltimore, MD (August 4, 2004) - Beatles '64,The Photographs of Morton Tadder is a temporary exhibit open September 12 to February 15, 2005. Relive the Beatles' visit to Baltimore on September 13, 1964 with a special exhibition in the Newhall Gallery of the H. Furlong Baldwin Library.

More than thirty rare photographs taken by Morton Tadder will be on display. They include the Beatles arriving, talking at a press conference, and performing on stage. Most of the photographs have never been published in the U.S.

Visitors will have the opportunity to see intimate pictures of George Harrison, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and Ringo Starr. Those who were not able to experience the 1964 visit will gain a real sense of the excitement felt that day through the photographs of the fans and public figures in attendance. Also on display will be pieces from the collection of a Maryland collector of Beatles paraphernalia.

Tadder, a photographer who worked in Baltimore for 50 years, has donated his Maryland-related photographs to the Maryland Historical Society. His collection documents many aspects of Maryland life, and his work has appeared in many national and international magazines.

Limited edition posters and photos will be available for sale throughout the duration of the exhibit in the museum shop located on the first floor of the Carey Center for Maryland Life. Posters and photos also will be available for purchase online at http://www.mdhs.org/store.html.
